Gorkana Insight & Analysis Team
Maureen Lippe, Founder and CEO of Lippe Taylor, on marketing to women, Richard Branson, and mobile marketing.

What made me want to get into PR was... I love brands and understanding what motivates women to purchase certain brands and reject others. Also, I was a former fashion and beauty editor and had great media relationships and a good understanding of content that would excite them. It just all made good sense. Going from editorial to PR was a natural evolution for me and one I have never regretted.
If I could change one thing about the industry it would be... To never ever develop a marketing/PR plan for a potential new business client without first being hired by said client or getting paid for it. Giving our intellectual property to clients for free to win business is a big mistake, in my opinion. I’m willing to do a complete capabilities meeting with relevant case studies, but believe it’s wrong of us to offer programming for free with no protection. We have to create a new movement – “No More Free PR Plans!
